What CiteRank does

CiteRank is a Shopify app that scans a store's products and collections and scores how complete that data is. It can also generate an llms.txt file and add structured data (schema markup) to the storefront.

Data we collect from the store

• Store details: the store's myshopify.com address and name, and the store owner's name and contact email, saved when the app is first opened.
• Product and collection data needed for the scan: titles, descriptions, SEO fields, image alt text, SKUs or barcodes, categories, vendors and tags. Scan results are stored so the score history can be shown.
• Support messages: the name, email address, optional phone number and message a merchant sends through the Chat with us form.
• A Shopify access token for the store, used only to run the app.

Data we do not collect

CiteRank does not read or store any data about a store's customers or orders. The app only asks for permission to read products. It does not use tracking cookies on the storefront.

How the data is used

The data is used only to provide the app: to run scans, show results, answer support messages and contact the store owner about the app. We do not sell data or use it for advertising.

Who processes the data

• Shopify, which provides the platform and handles billing.
• Render, which hosts the app and its database.
• Resend, which delivers support and install emails.

How long data is kept

When the app is uninstalled, the store's access token and install record are deleted. When Shopify sends its store data erasure request after an uninstall, all remaining data for the store, including scan results and support messages, is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the data held about your store at any time by emailing atsscl5@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
